UK Degree Attestation For UAE
Attesting Documents for UAE in UK — Fixed Fee £450
All-inclusive UAE attestation service from central London. We handle notarisation, the FCDO apostille and UAE Embassy stamp — so you don’t have to.
Attesting documents for UAE in UK is a three-step legalisation process required because the United Arab Emirates is not a member of the Hague Convention. A UK notary public certifies the document, the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) issues an apostille stamp, and the UAE Embassy in London applies its consular attestation. Edward Young Notaries & Lawyers in central London provides this as a fixed-fee, all-inclusive service for £450 per document — covering notarisation, FCDO apostille and UAE Embassy attestation fees, with nothing extra to pay.
How Does the UAE Attestation Process Work?
We handle the entire process from start to finish. Three steps, one fixed fee, no hassle.
Send Us Your Documents
Complete our order form and send your original documents to us by tracked, insured post. No need for a physical appointment.
We Attest & Legalise
Our notary attests your degree or other document for the UAE. We obtain an apostille from the UK FCDO which confirms our status as UK notaries and then send it to the UAE Consulate to obtain the MOFA attestation stamp.
Documents Returned to You
We send the fully attested documents back to you by recorded delivery, along with your original documents. The entire process takes approximately 3–4 weeks.
How Much Does UAE Attestation Cost?
One fixed fee. Everything included. No surprises.
UAE Attestation — All-Inclusive
- Notarisation by a UK notary public (same day)
- FCDO apostille stamp (includes government fee)
- UAE Embassy attestation (includes consulate fee)
- VAT included — nothing extra to pay
- Personal & educational documents
- Discounts available for multiple documents
Turnaround: approximately 3–4 weeks (UAE Consulate processing)
Why Is UAE Document Attestation Needed?
The UAE authorities require attested documents before they will accept any UK-issued certificate for visa applications, employment, family residency or business purposes. Because the UAE does not recognise the Hague Convention apostille system on its own, a simple FCDO apostille is not enough. The apostilled document must also be verified by the UAE Embassy in London before submission to the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA).
This applies to personal documents such as birth certificates and marriage certificates, educational documents including degree certificates and diplomas, and legal documents such as powers of attorney. Without attestation, UAE authorities will reject the documents — which can delay visa applications, employment start dates and family visa processing by weeks or months.

What Are the Processing Times for UAE Attestation?
The full attestation process takes approximately 3–4 weeks from the date we receive your original documents. Here is how the time frame breaks down.
| Stage | Processing Time | Who Handles It |
|---|---|---|
| Notarisation | 1 day | Edward Young Notaries |
| FCDO Apostille | 1 day | We arrange via FCDO |
| UAE Embassy Attestation | 3–4 weeks | We submit & collect |
| Total | 3–4 weeks | All handled by us |
Please note: The UAE Consulate processing time is outside our control and may vary depending on staff capacity. Further delays may occur during Ramadan. We are unable to provide status updates during the Embassy stage. If there are any issues with your documents, we will contact you immediately.
Do I Need to Bring My Original Documents?
No. You do not need a physical appointment. Simply send your original degree certificate or educational document to us by tracked, insured post. The notary examines the original, produces a certified true copy, and the certified copy then proceeds through the FCDO apostille and UAE Embassy attestation stages.
Your original document is returned to you by recorded delivery alongside the fully attested copies. We recommend using a tracked courier service such as Royal Mail Special Delivery to send your documents to us.
Why Can’t I Just Get an Apostille for the UAE?
The Hague Convention established a simplified system for legalising public documents between member countries. If you were sending a document to France, Germany or the United States, an FCDO apostille alone would be sufficient because those countries are Hague Convention members.
The UAE is not a member of the Hague Convention. This means the FCDO apostille must be followed by a separate step — UAE Embassy attestation in London. The Embassy verifies that the apostille is genuine by checking the apostille number and security markings, then applies its own consular stamp. Without this final step, UAE authorities and the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) will not accept the document.
This is why a specialist UAE attestation service matters. The process involves three separate institutions (notary, FCDO, UAE Embassy) and any mistake at any stage means starting again. We manage the entire process so you do not have to navigate it yourself.
